Soda spilled on ipod tpuch?! help!?

okay heres the story........i play basketball for my high school and one day before a game i bought a soda (were bot allowed to drink them) so my coach was heading my way and i had my ipod touch in my jacket pocket and i knew he would say something so i put my opened can of soda in my pocket (yes i know it was dumb) and i took my ipod out and it had ginger ale on it. my ipod tuch was already on so i clicked the on on the top of the ipod touch and it completely turned the whole ipod off and now it wont turn on. when i got home from our game. i dried it, let it sit for a whole day and then i blow dried it and i still dont know what to do help me i really need this ipod? i cant afford a new one and a warranty doesn't cover liquid damage! PLEASE HELP ME!!!
