Does Dipping rats in chicken broth really work?

i have a one year old ball python and for the last 3 weeks he has acted really hungry. Every time we have tried to feed him, he wont eat it. so my friend called me today and said that if u dip the rat in chicken broth he will eat it. would that even work or be good for him.
