What kind of snowmobile/snowmachines/sleds are used for what purposes?

There is the crossover, performance, and deep snow. What do all of these do in their different styles. Like there is also the touring, which its name says it all. But what kind of jobs can the crossover, performance, and the deep snow do. What are each individual one made for? If you don't understand just write what you think i might be asking. Thnx
